What’s included

  • Intake call and 3-business-day evaluation period
  • Up to 3 hours of probate specialist time
  • Application built from our templates, reviewed and filed by an attorney
  • Attorney appears with you at the hearing

What the two fees cover

The platform fee covers the guided system, our Texas court templates, document generation, the portal, and the probate specialist hours listed for your service. The attorney fee covers the attorney’s review of your documents, filing, and appearance at your hearing.

Court costs and any attorney ad litem fee the court orders are separate, and you choose how to pay them. You can pay the court or the ad litem directly, or have us pay them for you: we send a payment link for the exact amount, and once you pay, we pay the court or the ad litem the same day, with no markup.

What a probate specialist does

Your probate specialist hours cover the practical, non-legal work of settling an estate: setting up the estate bank account, getting access to account records, gathering death certificates and statements, coordinating creditor payments and receipts, status calls with heirs and beneficiaries, compiling information for the inventory and accountings, and working with real estate agents, appraisers, and notaries. Specialists do not give legal advice; legal questions go to the attorney. Additional specialist time is available at $125 per hour, billed after the work is done.

The 3-business-day evaluation period

After you hire us, we hold an intake call to look for issues such as disputes, minor beneficiaries, creditors who will go unpaid, heirs with unknown addresses, or a pending foreclosure. During the first 3 business days after you hire us, either of us can end the engagement for any reason, and we refund your platform fee, less any court filing fees or other costs already paid. The attorney fee is never charged until the attorney’s work is done.

Common questions

Do I have to talk to someone before I buy?
No. You can buy online right away. The detailed conversation happens in your intake call after you sign up.

What if I picked the wrong service?
We tell you in your intake call and switch you to the right one, adjusting the platform fee up or down.

What if the estate is contested or large?
Our services cover uncontested matters only. For will contests, family disputes, or large and complex estates, we refer you to a firm that handles those cases.

Card payments include a processing fee of about 3%. Court costs vary by county. Our document templates and online system are not a substitute for the advice of an attorney.
